About
Welcome to the charming oasis of flavor known as Mom + Pop’s. Nestled at 501 S 6th St, Petersburg, IL 62675, this delightful establishment specializes in American breakfast and brunch, serving up a menu that will leave you utterly satisfied and eager for more.
What truly sets Mom + Pop’s apart is not just the food, but the sense of community and warmth you feel as soon as you walk in the door. This quaint spot may only be open four days a week for a mere three hours each day, but it’s no secret that regulars can’t stay away. Word of mouth is their best marketing tool, and recommendations from locals like Joe down at Joe's Boat Covers guide food lovers to their door.
So, what can you expect on the menu? The star attraction surely has to be their Fried Chicken Plate, a favorite among patrons like Julia McTaggart, who have made their weekly visits a cherished tradition. The chicken is juicy and perfectly seasoned, complemented by an array of sides that includes mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, ensuring you leave with a truly hearty meal.
But there's more to love! The Citrus Chipotle Pork Shoulder is a delicious blend of citrus zest and smokiness, while the Papas Pot Roast promises tender, flavorful meat that feels like a comforting hug in a bowl. And let’s not forget the sweet ending to your experience with the Chocolate Royale Brownie, a decadent treat that satisfies any sweet tooth.
Mom + Pop’s shines not only in its food but also in its exceptional service. Guests have raved about the attentive and friendly staff, making every visit feel like coming home. The cleanliness of the establishment is particularly noted; it’s a well-run operation that prioritizes the comfort and satisfaction of its patrons.
Don’t just take my word for it—customers like Marty Pants and Chris Ortman have echoed similar sentiments, noting the generous portion sizes and the pristine quality of the food. Whether it’s a special dinner pop-up or a midweek lunch, the excitement and anticipation build as locals gather, sharing food, laughter, and good conversation.
Mom + Pop’s isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience that brings people together over delicious, home-style cooking. If you find yourself in the Petersburg area from Tuesday to Friday, be sure to visit this local gem. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

“ I went for a dinner pop up fried chicken buffet and it was delicious! They had grilled chicken w cheese tomatoes, fried chicken, chicken tenders, and spicy chicken tenders. Mac cheese, mashed potatoes w two options for gravy, brown white, corn, green beans, and fresh baked rolls as sides AND a salad bar. There were 3 5 types of cookies for dessert as well. All of this a drink came to 24. Definitely well priced as it was all you could eat! There wasnt a single item I would improve, every dish was excellent. If you havent checked out Mom Pops yet, get yourself there ASAP! as an out of towner getting to Petersburg during their normal business lunch hours is tricky, so Im happy they do dinner pop ups hopefully theyll make dinner service during the week a permanent fixture! ”
“ Visited for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I were able to sit and have a conversation while our young kids played in the kids corner within view . I ordered the pot roast. Portions were great, food was delicious and presented in a visually appealing way. I feel like the pot roast is the most expensive item on the menu at 17 well worth it for the amount and quality. The fresh baked bread was the cherry on top! Highly recommend if youre in the area. The shops on the square are close by, too ”
